It has worked in anything I have thrown at it so far. Basically, I want to use a key that doesn't interfere with my OS or Game at all.I'm using a Razer Deathadder Chroma and decided to use the side buttons for push-to-talk, but the problem is,Razer Synapse requires a Keyboard key ,that the mouse button should trigger. Go to Discord and set PTT to F13 (by pressing your newly rebound Mouse5 key). I got a problem with Discord and other VoIP software. Shut down AHK script (You only need it for rebinding)ĥ. Click on Add a Keybind button and in the actions tab, open the drop-down and select push to talk (Normal) or Push to talk (Priority) and assign a Key to it. Assign a hotkey to activate your microphone by clicking. Under Input Mode, check the box next to Push to Talk. Within the App Settings section, select the Voice & Video listing on the left side of the window. Rebind it and press the Mouse5 key which should input "F13" (It did in my Logitech program).Ĥ. From there, open the Settings menu by clicking the gear icon in the bottom left of the Discord interface. Go to your mouse program and find the Mouse5 key. I use Mouse5 (Forward in browsers) as PTT key.ģ. PTT will work but I am not sure of the consequences of this as I didn't test it. Now go back to Settings > Voice ( Voice & Video). Hit Stop Recording to save your preference. Once you’ve got that into place, click on Record Keybind and press the key that you want to use as a Push to Talk toggle. Now make sure you choose Push to Talk as the action. Note: You could keep the AHK script on at all times and not change the key in your mouse application, but for some reason Discord will bind the PTT key to "Mouse4 + F13" (Mouse4 in Discord is Mouse5 everywhere else). Once you’re there, tap on Add a Keybind (top-right corner). If you have a mouse where you can rebind buttons, you don't need autohotkey script permanently on, but only for the initial setup. I use Discord like OP and for any future users who come in here looking for answers, I will describe what I did. Long have I searched for a consistent way to use PTT because either the key bound is in use or sometimes the game even screws with "discard hotkey" functions. This is especially useful if you live in an area. AHK should cause suppression of the XButton1 for you, and instead replace it with F13, which should have no effect in any program except Discord. The Push-to-Talk feature in Discord allows you to create a button by pressing which, your mic will be enabled and you will be able to communicate. Now set F13 to be your PTT key in Discord. So you can use XButton1::F13 to remap the XButton1 command to be F13. F1-12 keys are common on keyboards, but Windows supports F1-24 actually ( KeyList). Exaskryz wrote:You should be able to do rare keys that don't have any action in most programs.
